Weekly competitions are played in accordance with the United States Golf Association (USGA) Rules of Golf. Please know the rules, which are available on the USGA website.
Club meetings are held three times a year.
The entry fee (sweeps) for weekly competitions is $5.00. All members must pay for sweeps in advance of play and must have at least a temporary handicap.
TVLGC uses the BlueGolf platform. Players are required to register for or cancel attendance in weekly play days using BlueGolf.
Scorecards are kept by EVERY player playing in a group. If four golfers are in your group, there are two players on your card. If only three people are in your group, keep all three scores on all cards. All players in the group must announce their score to everyone, prior to leaving the green. Make sure that all scorecards for all players listed agree. The scorecard must include names, date, total scores, current handicap, putts, game score and attested signatures. Scorecards are turned in to the tournament chairperson after the round is completed. All scores will be entered in BlueGolf by the tournament chairperson and posted for you.
Scores ending in ties are broken by handicapped holes, to determine sweeps places.
In the case of contested play, a ruling must be requested immediately following the end of the competition, before signing the scorecard. A decision will be made at the end of the game.
Regardless of your personal USGA handicap, a maximum handicap of 45 will be used for all weekly competitions.
If a ball is lost during play, the player can take a 2-stroke penalty and drop a new ball, in the fairway, near where the majority of people in the group agree the ball was lost. The player also has the option of returning to the place where the lost ball was originally hit, taking a 1-stroke penalty.
Our club follows the winter rule of lift, clean and place 6 inches from the original lie. Players should mark the spot where the ball originally landed with a tee or club head. It is permissible to move your ball 6” in any direction not closer to the hole, except when the ball is within a penalty area, bunker, or on the green. The ball must remain in a similar lie; for example, fairway to fairway or rough to rough. This rule is in effect all season long.
A prospective member must keep her own scorecard. The member playing with the prospective member must keep score for the prospective member on their scorecard. The member will also have to keep score with the other members in her group.
Once a prospective member plays three times with the club and the combined gross score of those rounds averages no more than 140, the Membership Chairperson notifies the Executive Board and requests approval for admission. When approved by the Executive Board, the Membership Chairperson notifies the new member and she must then pay the membership fee. The new member is then given access to the Club Procedures, Club By-Laws, Club Member Book on the website, and shown how to access BlueGolf, a sample scorecard, and a red pen.
A guest can play no more than 5 times. A guest is a player who does not intend on joining our club and keeps their own scorecard.
Dues are paid in advance starting at the beginning of October and must be paid by November 1 for the following calendar year. 2026 dues are $72, plus $1 Hole in One Insurance (if needed).
